Derek and Kelsey met while working at Dell and after 3 years of dating Derek proposed last March on a hike down to Hamilton Pool. Kelsey just thought they were going exploring but Derek had something else planned.

Kelsey said " Derek was planning this proposal for about a month, and at this point had the ring for a little over a week.  Needless to say, he was nervous and just wanted to pop the question, but Kelsey did not have a clue.

Hamilton's pool is a collapsed grotto and canyon, formed by thousands of years of water erosion. A unique natural area surrounds this pool,  with Lush plant communities, a variety of wildlife species and natural shelter attracted the area's first inhabitants. Cultural remains date back over 8,000 years.  It is defininetly a sight to see if you are ever in Austin - BEAUTIFUL!

As Derek and Kelsey were site seeing around the pool, Derek took the camera from Kelsey and told her to stare out at the water for a "planned action pose" picture.  Of course, Kelsey jumped on this opportunity, (if you have ever seen her sister's blog, you would know that Kelsey does not take good action shots :).  When Kelsey turned around, Derek was on one knee with a ring.  His words were simple and true, and full of love, "Kelsey I love you, I want to spend the rest of my life with you.  Will you Marry Me?"
 Of course she said YES!
